The supplies, including soaps, disinfectant and sanitary kits, are intended for the local population to fight against Covid-19 in Guinea. Winning Consortium Simandou donated medical supplies to Kérouané
September 7, 2020, Guinea – Today, the Winning Consortium Simandou made a donation to the prefecture of Kérouané, it is a batch of medical supplies, including 5 boxes of disposable masks, 20 boxes of kits antibody test, 3 cartons of medicines, 3 cartons of forehead thermometers and 1 carton of sprays, 20 cartons of soaps, 30 pieces of hand washing buckets, the total value of which is about one billion GNF.
Mr. Wu Qiong, Mr. Wang Zhaosheng, Mr. Guo Jianjun, Mr. Wang Qiang and Mr. Song Shigang of Winning Consortium Simandou, as well as Mr. El Hadj Sory Sanoh, Prefect of Kérouané, Mr. Saran Mamady Conde, Secretary General and Mr. Mamady Mariame Camara, 1st Vice Mayor, etc., attended the donation ceremony.
Mr. El Hadj Sory Sanoh, Prefect of Kérouané, expressed his gratitude to the Consortium for this donation. Winning Consortium Simandou launches its community assistance plan through the road maintenance project between the river port of Morebaya and Maférinya

August 20, 2020, Guinea – Today, Winning Consortium Simandou officially began repair works on the road linking the river port of Morebaya to the community of Maférinya. The route begins at the river port of Morebaya and ends at Maférinya. With a total length of 16.8 km, it will be the main road linking Maférinya to the villages around the river port of Morebaya. Currently, all along this road, there are still many flooded points because it is a pavement based on unhardened soil. During the rainy season, large puddles and water reservoirs appear, traffic is extremely difficult and restrictive. Once the repair works are completed, the use of this road will be possible again and traffic will be free, providing better and safer transport conditions for the local community.
This project is part of the assistance plan for communities and populations initiated by the SMB Winning Consortium in Guinea, and particularly by the WINNING Consortium Simandou. Overcoming enormous difficulties related to the availability of personnel and equipment during the pandemic, the Consortium has set up a maintenance team mainly composed of Guinean engineers and technicians, with a relatively high proportion of local employment. This whole process of upgrading and maintenance will strictly apply construction standards in this area, and will ensure compliance with all environmental protection measures to ensure the quality of the project. China Huayu Construction Economic and Technical Cooperation Company in Guinea Sarl will provide free stone and other facilities for the maintenance project.
Winning Consortium Simandou has launched a public welfare project: maintenance of the 140km N2 road from Kankan to Kérouané
Kérouané, Guinea, July 20, 2020 – Although the Winning Consortium Simandou iron ore project in Simandou has not officially started, its community public welfare project has already started. the N2 road maintenance project from Kankan to Kérouané started on 3 July. Construction workers as well as construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks were deployed and started the works.
Due to the challenges of logistical support and heavy rains, many difficulties have to be overcome for maintenance work. Currently, pit filling and maintenance works are completed for the first 4 km section from Kérouané to Kankan. Apart from this, 21 borrow pits have been identified in an 82 km section, which constitutes a good basis for the following works. To expedite the works and ensure that the N2 road is unblocked as soon as possible, a large number of Consortium equipment and engineering personnel left Boke on July 15 for reinforcements.
All Base Agreement procedures completed
Republic of Guinea, Conakry, July 03, 2020-Today, given the presidential decree signed by the President of the Republic of Guinea, it is declared that according to Law L/2020/004/AN of June 26, 2020 on authorization of the ratification of the Base Agreement between the Republic of Guinea and Winning Consortium Simandou-SAU for the exploitation of Iron Ore from Blocks 1 and 2 of Simandou signed on June 09, 2020, all the procedures of the basic agreement are completed.
