August 20, 2020, Guinea<\/strong> \u2013 Today, Winning Consortium Simandou officially began repair works on the road linking the river port of Morebaya to the community of Maf\u00e9rinya. The route begins at the river port of Morebaya and ends at Maf\u00e9rinya. With a total length of 16.8 km, it will be the main road linking Maf\u00e9rinya to the villages around the river port of Morebaya. Currently, all along this road, there are still many flooded points because it is a pavement based on unhardened soil. During the rainy season, large puddles and water reservoirs appear, traffic is extremely difficult and restrictive. Once the repair works are completed, the use of this road will be possible again and traffic will be free, providing better and safer transport conditions for the local community.<\/p>\n

This project is part of the assistance plan for communities and populations initiated by the SMB Winning Consortium in Guinea, and particularly by the WINNING Consortium Simandou. Overcoming enormous difficulties related to the availability of personnel and equipment during the pandemic, the Consortium has set up a maintenance team mainly composed of Guinean engineers and technicians, with a relatively high proportion of local employment. This whole process of upgrading and maintenance will strictly apply construction standards in this area, and will ensure compliance with all environmental protection measures to ensure the quality of the project. China Huayu Construction Economic and Technical Cooperation Company in Guinea Sarl will provide free stone and other facilities for the maintenance project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
