{"id":2,"date":"2019-01-17T11:51:06","date_gmt":"2019-01-17T03:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/winningfr.dfsj.net\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2021-03-24T21:36:19","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T13:36:19","slug":"consortium","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wcsglobal.com\/en\/consortium\/","title":{"rendered":"Consortium"},"content":{"rendered":"[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/vimeo.com\/329768231&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row gap=&#8221;35&#8243;][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>CONSORTIUM SMB WINNING: \u201c3 Chiefs, 3 Shareholders, 3 Men\u201d<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Mr SUN XIUSHUN, President of WINNING SHIPPING Group, Chief Project Coordinator,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Mr ZHANG BO, Chairman of the CHINA HONGQIAO Group, Chairman of the WAP Board,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Mr Fadi WAZNI, General Manager of UMS International Group, Chairman of SMB Board.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThrough their enthusiasm, their interest in a common project, they mobilized their teams and pooled their resources in a consortium of companies for a rapid development model.\r\n\r\nIt is a consortium of 3 shareholding companies plus a partner Yantai Port, integrating the Guinean State as 4th shareholder with 10% of shares, as is regulated by the Mining Code of the Republic of Guinea.\r\n\r\nTo carry out this tremendous economic and human adventure, the 4 companies have mobilized the necessary resources for the realization of a project of this scale.\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>WINNING SHIPPING\u00a0is the largest shipping carrier in Asia, carrying more than 50 million tonnes of bauxite per year to China;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Certified ISO 9001 for 7 years in Guinea,\u00a0UMS\u00a0has been the transport leader in West Africa for many years;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>With a 2015 turnover of nearly 45 billion US dollars, and 160,000 employees,\u00a0CHINA HONGQIAO Group\u00a0is the number 1 of aluminum production in China<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Now as a modern port group company, Yantai Port has 109 berths for various purposes, including 70 deep-water berths for vessels of over 10,000 DWT, with total dock coastline of 22,658m, a total area of 9.09million square meters for warehouses and yards.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nBy adding to this the undeniable expertise of Yanta\u00ef Port Group in the construction of port logistics platforms, you obtain the logistics chain allowing the export by the\u00a0SMB WINNING Consortium\u00a0of Bauxite from Guinea to China.\r\n<ol start=\"2\">\r\n \t<li>The Birth of the Project<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nThe project began in 2014 in a non-cadastral and unexplored area, where SMB geologists have identified our first bauxite reserves, an area less than 30 km from the northern shores of Rio Nu\u00f1ez, which hinted to ideal evacuations solutions.\r\n\r\nOn January 19, 2015, the SMB obtained its research permit, leading for 6 months its Environmental and Social Impact Studies and presenting in June its feasibility study, obtaining on July 7, 2015 its export license.\r\n\r\nOn July 20, 2015, the first ton of bauxite departed from the Katougouma river terminal, opening the door to our target of 15 million tons in 2016.\r\n\r\nOn March 16, 2016, the SMB obtains new research permits on the Dabiss area, for which, in December 2016, 2 exploitation permits are issued.\r\n\r\nOn March 13, 2017, an industrial mining license was issued for the area of Malapouya, in the prefecture of Bok\u00e9, on an area of 146 km\u00b2.\r\n\r\nIn parallel with the mining activities themselves, the\u00a0SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM, after laying the foundation stone of a second river terminal at Dapilon in April 2016, sent a first barge from this terminal for export. ore to China in October 2016.\r\n\r\nTo date, 2 river terminals are operational and thus increase the export capacity of Guinea bauxite to 50 million tons per year.\r\n<ol start=\"3\">\r\n \t<li>The SMB WINNING\u00a0CONSORTIUM infrastructures<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nIt is an\u00a0Integrated Logistics\u00a0model, starting with the day-to-day management of site resources, which are transported by trucks on exclusive mining roads, leading to the terminals built on the banks of Rio Nu\u00f1ez in Katougouma and Dapilon.\r\n\r\nLoaded on barges of 8,000 tons each, the bauxite carries out its second voyage, fluvial this one. This time, to reach at sea the ships of our fleet.\r\n\r\nIt is loaded with transhipment cranes and exported to China, joining the CHINA HONGQIAO Group\u2019s refineries.\r\n\r\n<u>Here are some figures :<\/u>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><u>Katougouma Terminal:<\/u><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>4 loading stations capable of loading 8 barges (total of 60.000mt) per 24 hours:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Loading stations 1 &amp; 2 :\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>\r\n<div id=\"gt-src-c\" class=\"g-unit\">Each loading station is equipped with two 25mt fixed rotating harbor cranes, assisted by a mobile loader;<\/div><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Loading station 3: equipped with a conveyor belt;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Loading station 4: 2nd receiving cradle for loading station 3.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ol start=\"2\">\r\n \t<li><u>Dapilon Terminal:<\/u><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>3 loading stations, capable of loading 6 barges (total of 45.000mt) per 24 hours.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ol start=\"3\">\r\n \t<li><u>Marine Logistics and Transhipment:<\/u><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>4 \u201cFloating Crane\u201d: Boke Winning Star, Winning Giant, Winning Titan, Winning Sunrise:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Transhipment Capacity: 20.000 mt\/day ;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>2 \u00ab\u00a0Floating Cargo Terminal\u00a0\u00bb (FCT): Winning Unity and Winning Power:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Loading Capacity : 50.000 mt\/day ;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>33 barges;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>45 tug boats.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThese infrastructures, some of which in the Bok\u00e9 Special Economic Zone, also allow operational pooling for an increase in production and annual export of Guinean bauxite.\r\n\r\nThus, on June 14, 2017, the SMB and the French company\u00a0AMR (Alliance Mini\u00e8re Responsable)\u00a0signed a partnership agreement, production agreement, aimed at making Guinea the leading exporter of bauxite in the world and increase its production capacity to export better quality bauxite at a more competitive price.\r\n\r\nThree major consequences resulting from the agreement: make Guinea the world leader in bauxite production; strive to respect and improve the working and living conditions of employees and local populations; give France the opportunity to be at the heart of the global aluminum production sector.\r\n<ol start=\"4\">\r\n \t<li>SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM: A Citizen Economic Model<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nTo succeed in making such a development model, the SMB has to highlight the values of the shareholders and CONSORTIUM SMB WINNING.\r\n\r\nThese values and intentions thus give rise to an economic model that contributes to Guinea\u2019s growth every day, making CONSORTIUM SMB WINNING an eco-citizen group.\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>In terms of contributions, the project will inject nearly\u00a0US $ 4 billion into the Guinean economy\u00a0for its 2017-2022 plan and will bring the value of its investments to\u00a0US $ 1.3 billion over the next three years, including mines and equipment, mining, port infrastructure and maritime logistics equipment. In addition, the fleet of Capesize vessels of the WINNING group completely dedicated to the project currently represents a value of 1.5 billion US dollars.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>These investments will enable a\u00a0significant increase in our annual production from 30 million tonnes\u00a0expected in 2017 to\u00a050 million tonnes from 2020.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>In fact,\u00a0mining and export taxes, which amounted in 2016 to\u00a029.5 million US dollars, will be around 100 million US dollars for 2017.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ol start=\"5\">\r\n \t<li>Governance and Transparency<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nIn harmony with the EITI, the SMB subscribes entirely to the regulations in this area, without any exemption and tax vacancy.\r\n\r\nAnd as a support in the different stages of declarations of our extractions and exports, but also for all the regulatory processes applied to an extractive company, the\u00a0SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM\u00a0has attached the services of the 2 largest companies present in Guinea, recognized global specialists:\r\n\r\nSGS and PwC.\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>SGS for cargo analysis, verification and inspection, imports and exports.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>PwC for the validation of our payments to the Guinean State and the control of all our declarations, fiscal and customs.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ol start=\"6\">\r\n \t<li>The Community Commitments of the SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nAs a citizen group, and putting forward its social responsibility every day, the SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM is involved in community development in the geographical area of its project.\r\n\r\nFor this purpose, the\u00a0SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM\u00a0has proceeded since its installation to the payments of compensations calculated for the reimbursement of goods and people impacted by the work of the project.\r\n\r\nSo far, US $ 7.5 million has been repaid to communities as part of the Compensation Action Plan.\r\n\r\nThe\u00a0SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM\u00a0and the actors of the whole project work every day to improve the living standards of the populations present with us on the ground, affirming its declared commitment from the first day of its installation, creating a better environment for the wellbeing and the harmony of the relations between all.\r\n\r\nTwo schools have already been built in Kaboye and Kampat\u00e8 districts.\r\n\r\nIn Katougouma, a training center that welcomes nearly 380 young people was initiated. The aim is to immediately give young people confidence in themselves and the opportunity to apply for jobs in the project, by giving them the necessary foundation to face the job market.\r\n\r\nA second time devoted to technical training will reinforce basic skills.\r\n\r\nThe health infrastructures were not omitted, since in 2015 the Consortium built 2 health centers, equipped them and put at the disposal of the services of the Ministry of Health, for the improvement of the living conditions of the population of Bok\u00e9 region.\r\n\r\nThese infrastructures, schools, training centers and health centers, thus made available to the population, have been entirely financed by the Consortium.\r\n\r\nThe establishment of a SCAD center in Bok\u00e9 to train 500 young people per year is also under study, as well as a school of the Navy on the extension of Dapilon and \u201cprogram talents\u201d between Guinea and Senegal. China, a major exchange platform for the training of national executives for the project.\r\n<ol start=\"7\">\r\n \t<li>The SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM Foundation<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nResult of the common will of the 3 shareholders of the Consortium, formalizing the initiative and the will of our group to promote acts of mutual aid and solidarity, by participating in the social, economic and cultural development of Guinea, Africa and the World, we created the SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM Foundation on July 07, 2016.\r\n\r\nThe\u00a0SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM Foundation\u2018s mission is to promote and support Guinean cultural projects, to give a major role to culture in Guinea, to participate actively in local and community development, to initiate and promote cultural activities. mutual aid and solidarity.\r\n\r\nThe role of the\u00a0SMB WINNING CONSORTIUM Foundation\u00a0is to explore new avenues alongside associative and institutional actors.
